Help with a Harris Tweed Coat

I bought this coat for personal use but haven't worn it too much, so up in my shop it goes! I was assuming it was 60s when I bought it for myself but after looking at the labels in the resource, I'm a bit confused! It doesn't match any of the label's exactly, but its closet to the 30s one. Style wise, though, it feels like 60s! Help please!





 
I dont think it is 30s. Your initial date seems more correct. Is that a registration mark (R in a circle) to the left of the logo? If so that would definitely make it later.

yes it is the registration mark! thanks for the info. does that give any sort of definitive date? I'm still leaning towards 60s but could be totally off base.
 
No, nothing definite, just more likely post 50s.

To me it looks like it could be 80s. You might want to contact Harris Tweed. They are very helpful.
 
I recently sold a Harris Tweed with almost the same label and nearly identical colors, though mine also had green shot through it. Mine was circa early 70s--yours looks a bit earlier, so I think your estimate of 60s is good.
 
You can email the Harris Tweed people and they will date your coat for you. I have a friend who had contacted them several times and they were very nice and responded promptly. Sorry but I don't have the site but I'm sure you can find it if you google them.

Hi all- I did email them, haven't heard anything back yet but i'll let ya'll know when I do. if they can give me a good date, we can add the label to the resource.
