Help with a language

Can anyone read this well enough to tell what language is being used? It is stamped on the edge of a piece of 1950s fabric, and it came from the UK.

Can you see it any better holding it against the light? I also find it helps to open the photo in photoshop and make it negative, plus then you can play around with light levels.
I'm intrigued - what is it? Maybe we can find an example with a better mark.

I know a couple of people who may be able to identify the designer from the print - can you show some close ups? I will send them this page.

Incidentally I love it  don't ya know I'm a keen skier?

I was afraid of that, as they are in a closed group. Anyone really interested in novelty prints ought to ask to join Novelty And Border Print B/S/T.
