Help with coat material

I am not sure what to call this coat material, its scratchy and stiff.
Any help is appreciated!

It's some kind of long pile fabric. Perhaps with some mohair content? A burn test may help you figure out what the fabric content is.

It could be acrylic or a blend.

looks like a mohair/other wool blend to me too. lilli ann did use mohair often enough during this period.
