Help with color & fabric name?

I'm going to be listing this suit soon, and am at a total loss as to what to call this color and the fabric! Duh--brain lock....

I think my photo is a little light, but the skirt where the lighting wasn't full on it is close to actual. It's a goldish-greenish-yellowish, not bright like a chartruese, but not a "standard" color.... Is there a name for this color? And the fabric has me a bit stumped, too. It looks like mohair or a silk/mohair blend or something like that. Has a looped surface, kind of like a very fine boucle, but unevenly looped thruout, thin & flat, then loopy. You can see the very fine threads in the weave. (This is a lot nicer "in person" than in the photos!)

Am I making any sense here? It's late, so maybe I'm not! TIA! And good night....

Oh geez...I know EXACTLY the color you are talking about - even if it is not showing up exact in the photo. And I cannot think of the name either! I bet i will at 3 am though.

anne and chris - me to! this is the colour that always stumps me..

mustard,goldenrod... that's as far as i get. and i'm struggling to think of anything other than boucle i'm afraid.

it does look like a nice suit - does it have a label? :)

Harriet, I think you have it! Goldenrod it is! Unfortunately, no maker's label, but it has an older ILGWU tag. I'm sure it was pricey--it has that look & feel. I think this is early to mid 60s? Those ties are satin, as are the buttons. It's a great suit for spring, as it's lightweight but not summer weight, and has those 3/4 sleeves. Near mint--another one I'd keep for myself if it fit! Oh, dear, I keep buying stuff that I want, but know doesn't fit me--dressing vicariously, I guess! Now if I could find some shoes to go with this....

I love the color and the style of this suit and I agree with your date! This color is so IN for Spring!

Thanks for confirm on the date, Linda! Sometimes these 60's things get muddled for me as to early, mid, late! Those sleeves really looked pre-late-60s to me.... the color really is spring perfect!
