Hi! I just joined this group and was hoping someone here would have a good idea on the age of these Ferragamos! Am I right that they are vintage? Thanks for any help! :)

i also agree with post 2000 - the shape and set-back of the heels, this kind of soles, and the design of the ankle straps.

Agree, I can also say that we've been seeing a lot of the faux-stacked heel effect on shoes in the last 5 years.

Are they navy and white? That's a weird combination for the 2000's... however, they have all the other telltale signs of the mid-2000s. To be perfectly honest I tuned out on what was happening between about 2002 and 2008 because shoes, and fashion in general got REALLY boring....

They're black/white although I agree the pic makes them look navy. Thanks, guys! I've got a LOT to learn when it comes to vintage lol! I so appreciate your help!

Anna, I can recommend two excellent books on shoes by Jonathan Walford (that's Jonathan up there ^).

Shoes from the last twenty years can be quite hard to date as the styles changed rapidly for a lot of it, with influence from all kinds of previous eras. I find it interesting that at the same time shoes became very diverse, general apparel fashion changes really slowed down: not coincidental. I love shoes and although I paid a lot of attention to what was happening, I found that very few of the styles were to my liking - in the mid '90s the Edwardian style with a waisted/Louis heel came in and I love those - wish I'd bought more but of course, I wore them until they fell apart. Since 2000 the shoes have been particularly unpleasant I think. Many heels were uncomfortable to walk in. My least favourite is the kitten heel, that came back in the early '00s.
