The Wetherall trademark was filed in Sept 1973 so I would think your coat is either from the 70s or possibly even later.

The trademark may have been filed in 73, but there is no information as to when the name was first used. Agree with Jonathan that they have been around longer than 73.

I've never seen the term British Crown Colony appear on any label other than something made in Hong Kong, but that's probably because Hong Kong was the only British Crown Colony that had a export clothing industry. And the dropping of the term British Crown Colony began after the 1967 Hong Kong riots as anti-British sentiments mounted, although I have seen that phrase on garments from the late 1960s.
