Hello, I am looking for help authenticating this dress as a genuine article from the early 20th century. It is of silk (burn tested) and cotton lace. There are no fastenings; it pulls over the head, and has a ribbon belt at waist with one single snap. There is an interior channel at the waist that holds what appears to be elastic. It is completely brittle now. The machine stitching is extremely tiny, and there is also hand stitching at various parts of the dress. There is one seam in the skirt that has selvedge, all the other seams are French or at least the raw edges are enclosed. The dress has a very deep hem. I hope the pictures can describe the dress further and more accurately than I.
