help with dating a beret/turban and possible fur id

I was wondering if anyone could help me with dating this hat. It's like a beret but with a thick cotton band around the perimeter. At the front of the cotton band is a circular "button" covered in the same material as the beret part of the hat. On the inside band there is a UHCMW label. I'm very unfamiliar with fur so I was also looking for help with determining the type of fur used or if faux, the material. Sorry in advance for the awful photo quality, as I had almost no sun left when I shot these. I also brightened them quite a bit to show detail.

thank you! that's what i thought too. i'm going to take better pictures and repost so someone can (hopefully) help with the material. c:
 
That union label in the photo is so common and seen in so many hats but I can never find any info on it. Does anybody know the dates it was used?
