Help with dating a dress? Vintage or no?

Hello all! I'm frighteningly new to vintage clothing.. and thus, I really don't have much knowledge on it at all. (Really.. I became fascinated with it about a week ago, ha ha.) I was just at a thrift shop today and bought this dress for a couple bucks. I'd love to try to date it, but it hasn't a label at all, anywhere on the dress.

This makes me wonder, is it not vintage? Perhaps it's a homemade dress? I'm quite unsure, and don't know how to title it. Here's a couple pictures.
 
The fabric doesn't look vintage to me nor does that particular kind of serging to the seams look vintage nor handmade. I'm going to say it's 90s storebought. Any evidence of a tag?
 
No tag at all, nothing on the inside, nothing on the slip. There's absolutely no torn threads either, that would even suggest a tag. However, thank you for letting me know. Its a cute dress, but I wouldn't want to tell people its vintage when it isn't. Thank you!

The dress' style is very 70s in style. I remember sewing from patterns very similar. Cute!
