Help with dating an embroidered bag

Hi everyone,

My Gran & I found this bag when were cleaning out her attic and I am curious to know how old it might be. Sadly it is not in a great condition with quite a few parts that are motheaten or fraying. I'd still love to know though if anyone has any ideas.

I would say it was home made in the 1940s, perhaps wartime, from a 1920s piano shawl
