Help with dating and fabric on red coat.

Hi ya'll. I need help with this coat. I think it is 60's or 70's, but I'm just not sure. Also, what is this type of fabric called? There is no label of any type, and not many interior clues aside from the closures, so I put a picture of them. Thanks for your thoughts!

I would call the fabric chenille, and it could be '60's. It has a of "Dr. Zhivago" (1965) feel to it, but it could be a few years later, inspired by the St. Laurent Russian collection (1976) - definitely has a Russian flavor.

I just thought the same thing on dating! I'm a Barbie doll collector too, and this reminds me a great deal of the "Magnificent Midi" ensemble of 1971, which had a red velvet midi-length coat with black "fur" trim - no hood though. Anyway, it's gorgeous, romantic.... love it!
