Help with dating and info on black box purse with red flowers by Claudia?

Hi~

I bought this cute box purse and it looks vintage. I'm not having any luck finding anything about it.

The flowers have a textured appearance and feel. The trim looks like rope and there is an acrylic jewel on the larger flower. The black handle is made of lucite. It's made of wood and the way the black strips are applied, it reminds me of paper mache?

there were a LOT of kit purses that came out with the enormous success of Enid Collins. Many were not labeled or signed. So, if yours has a name on it; well, that's something anyway.

I've personally never heard of Claudia. but that sure is cute. hopefully someone will come along that can be more help to you.

I appreciate you taking the time to reply. I googled Claudia and came up with nothing. Maybe a woman with that name made it from a kit (like you mentioned) and was so proud of her work that she signed the purse? It does score pretty high on the cute meter: )

Can you please show us the label that says "Claudia"? I like the idea that it is a personalised piece made from a kit. It has the creative whiff of upcycling.
