Help with dating/information on a mystery dress with Riri zipper

The dress has no labels. The zipper is "riri star".
Any insight would be helpful and much appreciated.
I would guess its from the 90's, but it is only a guess.

The metal zipper, lining, and pinked seam edges indicate to me that it's older than 90's. I would say 70's but the style is kind of throwing me off. Is it possible this was a maxi dress that got shortened?

Thank you, i would never think about that! But i checked it, and the hemline was sewn with a slightly darker yarn, so it is indeed possible.
