Help with dating organza blouse.

Hi~

I'd appreciate some help dating what I assume to be an organza blouse. It's very sheer and the fabric is somewhat stiff.

I'm wondering when everyone thinks this was made?

There is no label.

Thank you in advance!

Kim

Hi Denise~

I thought the same but was a bit thrown because of the fabric. I've seen several similar blouses but they were far older than this one.

I thank you for the compliment and for taking the time to respond: )

Buttons down the centre back? Usually early to mid '60s. The fabric looks like an embroidered cotton organdie on my screen.

Is it clipped to the mannequin at all? The '60s ones tend to be boxy. I agree with Maggie that this one could be '50s.

It sounds like you have an idea of the age: how old do you think it is? As it's in your hand, you have more information available than we can discern from photos.

Hi~

I do find the two fabrics confusing.

It's embroidered and is not pinned to the mannequin.

I initially thought 50s but wanted to ask the experts.

Thank you for the replies!

Do you have a close up of the buttons perhaps? It's hard to see details in the photos.

One way you can tell '50s is they tend to be generously cut in the bust, with small waists. If you can post the measurements we can compare.

Hi~

The blouse fastens with a top snap and seven small shell buttons. It's darted through the waist but does not have bust darts.

Measurements:
Shoulders 14"
Bust 36"
Waist 31"
Length 21"
Sleeve length 9"

Thank you so much!
