help with dating plastic flower brooch

fanciness

hello,

I'm having a bit of trouble determining which era this floral brooch belongs to. The flowers and leaves are made of a thin plastic and the stems are some kind of 'thread' with a waxy coating. The clasp is different than any I've seen before. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

It's a home made item, as that sort of brooch back is a pin for real flower heads to go in for weddings etc. and the added fake flowers could be as late as 80's/90s.

So pretty -- and they do look later don't they? Always confusing with such timeless and classic designs.

The coating that you see on the exposed threads is celluloid, and the brooch itself looks 30's/40's with a heat applied pinback. The flowers themselves are unusually 'new' looking I agree, but from the pics, it seems that they are original (maybe if you check closely, you can see if the piece has been modified in any way).
