hi.. i know i am allways picking you brains....when it comes to things.. but i really do appreciate it......

i have had some items over the last few weeks that only today i have managed to sort out.....

the first pair of shoes came with a stunning dress, but it was sooo badly marked with brown age staining.... that i ventured to the dry cleaners.. but with a lot of t.l.c. ( and emptied my purse in paying lol..) it has come up beautifully...
the dress came from the same place as the shoes etc....
the silver/platinum shoes has the code 75 3018 471 b+42
K Shoe can be seen but has faded out.
the taupe/cream strappy shoes as REALM printed in a box but again has worn

will be spending tomorrow gently cleaning the shoes to try and get rid of the markings.....

when do you say enough is enough when it comes to condition etc.. i know in an ideal world things would still be in perfect condition.... but where is your cut off point in trying to repair/clean an item....to re-sell

i know with the dress above it was a labour ( well finance ) of love and i know i dont think i will get my money back what i spend in having it cleaned.. but i feel sooo proud that i have saved the dress ....as i am sure if it had got into the wrong hands it would have been chucked into a rag bag....

The dress may surprise you . It looks quite nice and that halter with shirred bust is a popular style. I think early to mid 1950s. It might show well with a small crinoline under the skirt.

On the shoes - I think they are all 50s. The cream ones with really dirty insides - I'd give up on and donate to a local theatre. The black foot marks just don't appeal. The others - if you can glue down the innersoles that are curling or have it done by a cobbler, that will help sales.

thanks hollis.......i think the silver shoes were bought to wear with the dress as they came from the same house.....

i know being realistic.... the cream strappy shoes are well past their best with the markings.... i was going to see if i could get some sort of insoles to re-line them etc.....

will prob put them at the back of the shelve out of the way ..lol....
