Help with dating shoes

So, I need help with a pair of shoes. The brand is Wedgelings by Jack Rogers--the company began making shoes in the 50s. There's a trademark on the shoebox that I think was registered in 1977 (Frank C Meyer). The size is 7N. I'm guessing they are from the 70s or 80s because of the Frank C. Meyer trademark info and since they're labeled with an N rather with letters (A, B, etc.)? Any help would be appreciated, since I'm still learning how to date shoes according to materials/styles.

They look late 1950s, c. 1957, judging from the toe shape and how the strap is sewn. I haven't seen this type of sole before - the wood wedge is playing the part of a shank - supporting the arch, so its structural. Also, it is constructed using the 'California' method, which is where you make the upper first then attach it to the sole with glue.

Thanks, Jonathan! I'm still a complete novice when it comes to dating shoes via construction and styling, so I have to guess using brands/trademarks, which is highly prone to error.
