Help with dating this Jean Of California dress please

The style of this dress is truely timeless as I would definitely wear it today!!! (if it fit of course)

I need to try to pin point this to a decade please. Cant find much online for Jean Of California. Gano-Downs in Denver sold to another company in 1977.

It has a layer of nude colored silk (?), then the black layer.

That's lovely! I would say late 60s to early/mid 70s. Maybe no later than '74? This reminds me of some of the Miss Elliette styles (also out of California), and I think you see those even later into the 70s, but I think most of these were done toward the early side of that era. I am having a severe case of brain lapse this a.m., because I "should" know this better, since I lived through the 70s as a teen and young adult--but maybe that's why I don't remember better! LOL....
