I need some help with this dress. Am I right on a 70's date? It has no label and is likely home made(sorry about the not so good pictures)

How would you describe this dress?
Also I am considering opening a store at Babylon Mall. Can someone please tell me the diffrence between Babylon and VC Mall?

Hi, well this is a difficult one for me. The skirt looks like a 70's style but there does seem to be alot of construction in the bodice that could point to earlier. At a guess, I would agree with 70's . Is that elastic on the back of the waist or is it smocking? The neckline is close to a sweetheart neckline but not quite. It is also reminds me of a dirndl.

How about "curved sweetheart neckline dirndl dress"? or "Corded neckline detail dirndl dress" ?

Im sorry I cant be of help with the store/mall issue, I'm sure someone else will come along with more info.

It reminds me of a corset dress without the laces.

As far as your other question, VC-mall was a portal that just seperated out the VFG members and was part of the Babylon Mall. That's pretty much the difference. You can't really "join" the VC side of the mall, just Babylon. There was an agreement between the VFG and the mall to that effect in the past. Last year, both parties(VFG and the mall) ended their agreement with eachother. While some VFG members have stores in the mall, we are not affiliated with the mall as an organization and no longer promote it on our site, nor does it us.

I immediately thought of a dirndl too. I have a feeling that it is earlier
than 70s (60s maybe), with that bodice construction. It's a toughie.

Yes, it is elastic in the back. Thank you for everyones help, and VC/Babylon is alot more clear now.:spin:

I would vote with Sue that this could be 60's. This style is one of those that transcends eras, and the look of the fabric plus the construction details suggest mid to late 60s to me. FWIW!

I think I will go with 60's. It is alot more appealing to me(not that I have a problem with 70's) and I can definitely see it as a late 60's dress.
