Help with fabric information 50s dress

Hi Everyone

I was wondering if anyone was familiar with this type of fabric?

This is a 50s dress, possibly homemade? No signs of a tag, but they usually do fall off. I got this from one owner who did not make her own dresses, she seems to have bought most of her dresses, (she saved almost everything) so i found some great items in her collection.

Anyway its why im leaning more toward it not being homesewn.

I really love this pattern and the fact it has a detachable strap . Its soft like cotton and the circles are thick and puffy and have a white gauze like material behind them.

Thanks for the additional photos. I think it's cotton sateen and the dots are made with trapunto technique.

Thank you! Yes it feels slightly smooth like a sateen. Thank you i have never heard of this technique. I cant wait to research more!
