Help with jacket. Is this tweed?

Hi,

I have another jacket which I believe is from the 80s and I think is tweed even though it doesn't have the herringbone pattern. Can someone please confirm the decade as well as the cloth? Also, it has a label that says 100% wool but does that include the lining? I wouldn't think that the lining is wool.

Have you checked out the fabric resource on this website? It will also help you identify the lining fabric. Also, Wikipedia has a short article on the types of tweed.

Yes, I have. That's why I thought that it is tweed but was hoping for a confirmation.

Victoria, it's definitely a tweed, and looks like a houndstooth tweed to me. I think your jacket is from the late '70, perhaps early '80s.
