Help with jacket Kym Haute Couture Darien, Connecticut

Hi friends,
I've been unable to find any information on this label, the only one in the garment. Is this 50s or 60s? I'm assuming it used to be part of a suit--would I call it a suit jacket or is there another term? Thanks in advance for your help. As before I will make a $5 donation to VFG in exchange for your expertise!

From what I was able to find, it looks like Kym was in operation from about 1962 through 1965 and they advertised that they did custom-made, original designs.

The 1962 attachment below indicates it was owned by Mrs. Douglass Montomery (Kathleen, I think), but the 1965 city directory indicates the business was then owned by Thomas B. Wanamaker, Jr. (see his Princeton obit HERE). There was no entry for the business in the 1966 city directory.

Amazing that you were able to find all of that. If you have time would you look into another Connecticut brand? It's called harry glotzer - I found it on a long fur coat.

I suspect the name Kym came from the designer's initials**:

Kathleen/Kay
Young
Montgomery

**Edited from my original "...his wife's intials," because I wrote that original misogynistic comment while looking for Douglass Montgomery's wife's maiden name in the caption of a photo of Douglass Montgomery.

THIS article (top left of the page) pretty much ties the designer to the name Kym.
