Help with KW and ID on 40\'s Styl Coat Please

Hello, first time to post here. Just found this site. I hope someone might know what style of coat this is called, and maybe what kind of fur this is. From looking up the label it is from the 40's. Only has 1 button at the top and the 2 ties. On the inside label it says Coppola Designs , Deitch, Wersba & Coppola.

Thanks
Sherry

Sherry, I've been in business literally forever and never seen another...it's SPECTACULAR!!!

I think the fur is natural summer ermine....the animal is rich brown with cream belly hair in summer, and changes to all white in the winter for snow camouflage.

It's an expensive fur and this was obviously a VERY pricey coat.

And welcome to the site...it's a great source of information with some incredible experts willing to share. I can't tell you how much I've learned here in a very short time...

Welcome!

That really is a stunning jacket! I agree with late 40s and I usually refer to this style as a topper. Not sure if that is actually correct or if it would do justice to this one though.

Thanks for all the replies. I will see what I can find out on the fur being ermine. I have never heard of that. I am new to the vintage stuff. I have a lot to learn, but having a great time..lol.
Coat maybe called a Topper? Will check on that also.

Thanks again

Sherry
