Help With Some Shoes 1940\'s

Hello everyone. I was actually referred here by someone on the ebay message boards. I have a pair of shoes that I would like to find more info on, but can't seem to find anything. They said that I might be able to find someone who could help here. Here are the pictures. Sorry they are so big.

Thanks!

John Marino was a high end but small-time shoe manufacturer from New York. I don't think he was in business for very long though because I always seem to find shoes from about the same era - 1940s - 1950s. These date to 1947 - 1951ish, not before 1947 because the heel is too slim and shaped, and not after 1951 because the platform is too high. They are a nice design, architecturally, but I personally find the surface decoration a little too much (are the rhinestones necessary?) lol. Regardless of my taste, they are an excellent size for resale and appear to be in excellent condition.

DANG! Those are one of the best pairs of 40's platforms I've ever seen, regarding both design and condition.

Just send them to me. :xmasunwrap2:

wowsers.. these would bring a nice fetching price (listed at the right time of course!!!!)

I would wait until after everyone recovers from holiday brokenness... that is if you are listing them and not keeping them for yourself!!!

Not a platform gal, I like my hubby being taller than me :-) but they are very very nice! Thanks for bringing them here!

:adore:

And my size too. Or the size I used to be - my feet seem to be less tolerant than they were in my 20s.
:(

Thanks for all your responses. I saw them at the store and swiped them up quick. I really love them. They are so pretty, and my size! :D I may just hold on to them for a while. I could really use the extra $$ though, but maybe it would be better to wait until after the holidays. I thought that the rhinestones were a great touch of sparkle, and who doesn't love sparkle!

Thanks again!

Teresa
