Help with vintage alligator handbag

Hi everyone, I'm looking for some information on an alligator bag I found at an estate sale. It's black alligator, stamped "Lucille de Paris" inside. I was able to do enough research to find that LdP was a high-end bag maker, and that the alligator is probably genuine. However, I wasn't able to narrow down dates - my guess would be 50s or 60s, but I'm not sure.

I'm also interested in the condition. There is some cracking on the handles. Would it be possible to have this repaired? If so, how might that affect the resale value? (I know you can't appraise - just wondering if repair would increase or decrease possible value.) I'm not sure yet if I want to keep this bag or try to sell it. It really is a nice bag. I've attached some photos for reference.
