Hello!
So I thrifted a pair of super cute Bally shoes today and couldn't quite read the label on one shoe or find a similar style online. One shoe says Village Shoe Tree Carmel By The Sea and the other says Made in Switzerland, ______ Jack, By Bally. Does anyone know when these shoes were made or if they had a style name? Thanks so much!

Because the heel is so blocky I first thought they must be early 70s, but the rest of the style is typical of the early 1950s. Black painted leather sole, round toe, fringed foldover tongue, perforated sock lining, small gold labelling. I think these are c. 1950 - 1952 - walking shoes, probably worn with either trousers or a plaid pleated skirt and sweater.
