Help with Warner's A'Lure bra, please

Hello folks! It's been a while and I hope you are all doing well...

Here is a Warner's A'Lure bra. Plenty of similar ones on line, and lots of fun advertisements, too (nearly all from the mid-50s).

Thing is, I haven't found another with this closure style. Rather than the typical rows of hooks&eyes, it has what's more often used on a swimsuit top. So, while the front looks similar or identical to the comps + ads I've found, the back is different.

Also, nothing in the label resource matches exactly. I've emailed Leila for help, but no response yet. As you can see, this label has the double-V style W, and the W is larger than the remainder of the letters.

What do you make of this? Is there a clearclue to the exact date here I'm missing?

Thanks!

Liza

p.s. My friend Tom has granted me permission to use his 1958 A'Lure advertisement, which I cannot copy (technical difficulties), but you can view here: http://www.vintagepaperads.com/1958-Warners-ALure-Bra-Ad--Every-Move-You-Make_p_8210.html

Thanks, Nicole. I'd figured it to be 50s. Appreciate the confirmation! I have a strapless one with a similar clasp, but from a less-familiar (to me, at least) maker.

I've been trying to do a little research to no avail, but I remember having a more recent front closing bra with that type of closure. My "guess" on this is that it might be a just little later - maybe very early 1960's because the label is a little different, and the fiber content is on the label which I believe was required in 1960. I know that fiber content does appear earlier but I believe it was required in 1960. Because the style was so popular, Warner's probably made it for more than a few years. Is the "hardware" metal? The 1957 ad lists the color choice as "white" so maybe early '60's is possibility!???

Yes, Linn. Modern-day front-closure bras often have this same sort of clasp, as do bathing suits. The hardware is metal, at the strap front, and in that format where you lift a top piece to let the strap move, then clamp it back down (rather than the slider sort, if you know what I mean). I like how the content is written -- nylon AND cotton AND rayon. Just strikes me as funny somehow. As if they forgot about the existence of commas.
