Help with wool fabric in this Jaeger jacket, please

I'm putting this Jaeger jacket in my Mall store - it is a knit jacket, wrap around with a tie belt.

It is a mix of red & black - BUT - covered in gold hairs that stand proud of the fabric itself - the gold doesn't feature in the actual knit fabric. Does that make sense?

Is there a word for this - how do I describe it? You can see the effect better in the sample in the label image. Would I be right in thinking 70s or 80s for this?

Any help much appreciated!

This jacket is great for almost any figure! I would say this is late 1980's I think the 70's label were only the thinner label.. Could the knit possibly have a yellow mohair blend to it? I have had several items with this knit and that is how I describe it.
I love the way you put it, "stand proud of the fabric itself" that describes it beautifully! I am sorry I do not know a technical word for it though.
I am learning knitting so perhaps one day I will know more about knit!
