Thank you, Caryn

Smarie, I did a little additional research and Miss Dior was actually first launched when the Perfume was introduced in 1947.

I saw the label resource on Miss Dior however my label is not part of that line.

If you look at the Christian Dior Label section there is a label similar to mine from an early 60s Miss Dior hat.

Anyone else who can chime in would be helpful.

Barbara, when you get a minute look at my hats please and chime in.

Thanks, Caryn

Hi,

The hat is 1960's, from the earlier part of the decade. I cannot recall for sure when Miss Dior hats started, but it was circa 1959-1960, years before 1967 and way after 1947 (that was the perfume Miss Dior, there were definitely no Miss Dior hats in the 1940s.

The hat is not velvet, it is fur felt, and of an extremely high quality French felt also. The hat itself was "made" here in the USA however.

What is odd is that the Miss Dior line was for the youthful set, and this hat looks more matronly, for a more mature women, and is not typical of most MD hats. You do not usually find that high quality fur felt on a Miss Dior. Of course, there are exceptions.

I won't quote a price range, but will say that the quality of the felt is very very good, but the bubble toque style is a hard sell and the Miss Dior label does not garner the higher prices of the Dior chapeau line.
