Hestia Baby Style 50\'s Lighter ~ Anyone know Los Angeles history?

I love this miniature 50's pink enamel lighter (Made in Japan) I recently found. I'm a former resident of L.A., but I wasn't around when Al Sperling Co was in business, on 840 West Olympic, Los Angeles 15.
Richmond 9-6425

Does anyone know what this business was? I'm ever curious about stuff like this.

Google News archives brought up a mention of an Al Sperling Beauty Products Co at a different address in 1952.

Cute lighter! I can just imagine a fashionable lady lighting up with that.

It sure does look like a Beauty Products logo -- and I can just imagine all the fashionable ladies getting their hair done in a cloud of smoke...

I suppose a lighter such as this might be a good way to advertise one's move to a new location post-1952...

Lighters this cute almost make me wish I smoked! Carrying it around and using it to offer to light other people's cigarettes doesn't seem quite right ...
