Hi everyone. May I please have your assistance dating and more?

Hi everyone, This week I went to an antique shop who I have been building a buying relationship with. I bought lots of stuff and am hoping you all will help me with all of it. I have some dresses, some hats, and some boots and will be posting them as I take pics.

Up first is this lovely Bill Blass Boucle Tweed? skirt suit. When I purchased it I thought it was from the 70s. However the shirt which is a different brand has big 80s shoulder pads. Obviously it is not really part of the suit. Inside the suit though I found the 1974-1995 union label so I know it has to be 74 or after. I also looked in the label resource and was not sure if this label matched the 70s or 80s label.

What is your opinion on dating? Is the fabric Boucle Tweed? The blouse looks nice with but being it is not original to the outfit should I include it?

I'd sell the blouse separately but the color surely looks good colorwise, you could still put a picture or two there with the blouse to show people how it looks, but mention that it is on offer separately.

No idea about the suit's age really - I had a Benetton coat a few years ago that was quite similar - these bouclé fabrics have been around a few times, but I think it's very nice, an I love the pink and green color combination.

I would say 1980s. The long jacket and those colors. Maybe even newer. I have some Bill Blass with that same label from the 1980s.

Agree with '80s, in fact I'll go late '80s and would sell them together - I'd say the original owner bought them together and the blouse matches the lining so well. I can't imagine you'd get much for the polyester blouse if you split them up, but then I'm not excited by '80s polyester blouses.

Thanks everyone. I am getting an 80s feel too the more I look at it. I am not a polyester person either but even though the blouse is polyester it still has a nice feel and looks nice too. It does match the lining nicely.
