I am thinking "hippie" as a keyword for this beaded necklace....yes? What is that little feathery-thing on the side? It appears to be a mother of pearl inlay but what should I "call" it?Also.... The beads are not plastic....and not wooden. Perhaps bone??? Any help at all would be greatly appreciated. Thanks....

Are those those heishe beads again? But actually those look like some type of stone to me.

As far as the mother of pearl, I would say that they do look like some sort of shell. They are not abalone, but you might be safe with mother of pearl and then qualify with "or some other type of shell"

and also, it could have ben polished on one side and not the other so looking like an inlawy or two seperate things...

i really don't know though...

These are from the 80s though, not the 60s, so I don't know about Hippie in the title. I remember they were popular with brightly coloured skort suits and patio princess line mumus and the like.
