history on Leonard Sunshine

Hi All,

I've been digging through my books for any information on Leonard Sunshine, and so far I am at a loss. I know he was a NY-based designer who worked (at least) in the early-mid 1970s. He was known for high-end ready-to-wear and had a few collaborations, including (I believe) one with Anne Fogarty. Does anyone have info on this label?

BTW, I should introduce myself! I'm the owner of vintagevixen.com. I live, breathe and dream vintage, like most of you out there. :)

Thanks in advance,

April

Hi April.

I seem to recall his name coming up before here, unless i was thinking of someone with a similiar name.

I will do some hunting around.

In the meantime, hopefully someone will come forward with some information, just keep checking back

Hi April,

It's really nice having you here.

There is a Leonard Sunshine/Anne Fogarty label. It's one of the last Anne Fogarty labels, and I believe he did her "Collector's Items" line for a while. At any rate, early to mid 70s. That's all I know about him, but I'll keep my eyes open as I'm in the process of reading a whole pile of "new" late 60s/early 70s fashion magazines!

Hi to you both, and thanks for your replies!

Lizzie, when you say that Leonard's label for Anne Fogarty was one of the last AL labels, did you mean AF (for Anne Fogarty)? I just want to make sure I'm reading correctly. :)

I will post the labels I have of Leonard Sunshine's into the label image thread... Meantime if you come across any tidbits, I'd love to hear about them!

April, What it means is that I cannot type!:BAGUSE:

Yes, and I just looked at the labels you posted. That Leonard SS collector's items label is interesting. I'm sure I've seen a label that has both the Sunshine and Fogarty names on it. We don't have it but I'll keep my eyes open for it.
