I'm thinking late 50's/early 60's...but I have been known to be wrong before.

Most of the appliqued/embroidered cardies like this I've seen have had a golf theme. A couple were "Leroy Knits"--I took them to be 70s, but the shorter sleeves on yours do suggest an earlier date.

Actually the only thing that made me think 50's was the font used for "Indy 500".

yep, that's exactly my thought, too

that raglan sleeve on that smooth sort of knit was a 60's thing, for sure.
