Homemade coat? Velvet and... probably not fur?

Hi! I'm new to vintage clothing. I bought this coat from a thrift store because I thought it might be homemade, and I thought it was cool. Can anyone provide any guidance or information to date this, any other info? The body feels like velvet, and the collar feels like a coarse fur. There is no tag, appears to have hand-stitching and mechanized stitching. Fastens with snaps that are plain bronze.

That looks like a 1920s coat, the lining looks like silk of some sort (with a beautiful print), the velvet is likely silk, and the fur looks like bear. Hard to believe that was in a thrift store!
