Hot off the press

I just received an advertisement from Threads that my new book has been released.

Even though this is a book about how to sew a cardigan jacket based on what I've learned from original Chanels, there is some interesing info that will be helpful to anyone interested in vintage Chanels. Among other things, there is a chapter about the copies and who made them. There is a list of numbers and dates which will help you date garments.

Sorry to be such a braggart but I'm truly excited about the book. Oh, yes, there's a dvd--just in case you want to sew one.

I forgot to upload the cover. All of these jackets are couture Chanel. Each is incredible in its own way. The blue and white jacket has a seam in the center of each of the wide blue vertical stripes to make a wider stripe. Claire

Congratulations Claire! How do you do it? Seems like one book after the other! I don't sew (except hats of course) but I am fascinated by couture techniques and want to learn all I can. My sister sews, and she just bought one of your couture sewing books and I will have to tell her about this one.

Again, congratulations! :drinkingtoast:

Congratulations Claire!

:clapping: congratulations, Claire!! we'll get this added to our book list right away! :drinkingtoast:

Actually it's already in the bookshop in Claire's section, as it's been available on Amazon to pre-order for some time. Amazon is still only saying pre-order, no doubt that will change very soon! All of Claire's other books are also available - she has her own section.

I've now also put it on the front page of the bookshop, in our new Latest additions section.

If anyone wants to buy a copy, it'd be great if you bought it through the VFG bookshop, just pre-order, and I'm sure it will come very soon!

Also if anyone buys it though our Amazon shop, you can then review it if you want to, to appear on Amazon, which will also appear in our shop.

Thank you, all.
Lizzie if you find any errors, please let me know. Correcting the dvd is difficult but the book isn't at the next printing.
Jonathan, I'm thrilled to be added to the bookshop at the Museum.
Laura, all the cover pix are original Chanels, not mine.
Barbara, it's easier to do books more quickly if the last book did well For my next book, it's part of the Couture Sewing series so I start thinking about what next early and sometimes it's because they want a specific topic. I'm writing the script for the faux wrap skirt now and will film in Nov. I would like to do Trims and more Chanel techniques next.
I don't think I bought any of the Chanel jackets from VFG members, but I bought some copies--authorized and not. Many thanks to all of you the continuing support and help which you provide.
Claire
