Hot pants and Bell bottoms!

OMIGOD--does this ever bring back memories!!!!

Thanks for posting; I really enjoyed looking at the story of my youth in photos.

Now, if only people would actually start wearing big, hip-hugging polyester bell bottoms again, I'd be in business big time. I have a whole s---load of 'em!
 
Some really fun pix...wonder if the mini-wearing nuns were for real/seems odd that they'd be carrying different purses.

RE hot pants, my tween daughter wore them to school with tasteful red patent leather thigh high boots....her fashion statement.

BUT.....the cut off jeans both pre-and-post date 'hot pants' per se, which I remember being a very short-lived fad, a season or two, often worn with maxi coat or vest coverup. While the cutoffs were standard wear for decades....
 
I agree: hot pants per se were only in for a short while - shorts, meanwhile, stayed for most of the decade. Many of those photos (eg Catherine Bach) were taken later in the 70s.
