I was wondering if anybody knows when the fabric name polyester first begins to show on content tags in clothing.
I've always thought of polyester as a 60s-70s fabric name, but in regard to a specific doubt I looked it up and been reading it was invented in some form back in the beginning of the 40s but later on in the beginning of the 50s another sort of polyester was invented. It's unclear to me, when it was actually put into manufacture and introduced as polyester on tags? Maybe earlier than I think? Or under other names?
