How should I show this raffia skirt?

I probably don't have the right blouse, but what would you suggest? And what about a slip?

The skirt is flared but isn't a full circle. The 2nd pic is closest to the actual color.

Thanks in advance!

:)

What about a tailored hawaiian/tropical print blouse? or a similar tied to the midriff type of blouse. A tank plus beads might work too (white? black? i don't know probably white). I am sure someone has better ideas. This might sound weird but a menswear tailored crisp white shirt. Remember when that sort of safari look that was going on with the pockets and the sleeves where they had the button strap to roll them up and fasten them as a shorter sleeve? Maybe something like that. I almost said coconut shell bra LOL

Chris

Have you got a little white peasant blouse? Yes, I think beads would look good with it too. Do you have a straw hat like Maggie wore in her picture?

I'm picturing a champagne colored sleevless top or thick-strapped tank that hits just at the hip...some turquoise or jade jewelry...and some natural fiber sandels.

Chris -

A white tank would work, and I love the white cotton shirt idea - that's probably how I'd wear it myself, with the sleeves rolled up to above the elbow - but I was wondering what would've been worn with it in its own era -- ?

Can't say I have a little white peasant blouse Linda :) but I do have beads - big chunky amber ones that will look great with this.

You know, Vera Wang did a raffia skirt this Spring - pale yellow, I think, with a matching bolero jacket. Very chic, cost the earth - I should try to find a photo of it ~

Carolyn

I would, too.

The only reason I said the white peasant blouse is because I have a yellow skirt like this and when I purchased it, it was hanging on a hanger with that white blouse.

Will have to try to get it ironed and show you.

The print catalog I originally saw this in is free for the asking - I think there's a pop-up request form that appears if you go to the home page of the site. Go ahead, order it - a little (vicarious) wretched excess never hurt anyone :)

Carolyn

I've just clicked around the Vivre website and it doesn't begin to convey the sumputousness - the beautifully art-directed and produced wretched excess - of the print catalog. In other words, have them send you one :)

Carolyn

Wah! I didn't get a pop up asking me if I wanted a catalog.

Oh man.. I must be sending them the poverty vibes! heh! :hysterical:

That skirt really is fantastic, though... it could be worn so many ways. I'd love to see it as has been mentioned.. with a white button down. Fresh.

Don't worry Kristine, I didn't get a pop-up either for a catalog.
The system just seems to know........:puzzled:

That's the same color as my rafia skirt! Thanks for the link to the catalog ordering. Mine is on its way!
