how to be a hobgoblin?

Very OT! I have decided to abandon the usual witch route this year for halloween and go as a hobgoblin to host the school under 5's party.

I have so far:

- a brown suede (1960s, got vintage in there somewhere!) 3/4 length jerkin/waistcoat
- purple and black stripy tights

So what should I wear with them? Shorts? Pirate shirt?

Help much appreciated! Will reward you with photos next week, lol...

(P.S. What is the difference between a goblin and a hobgoblin? Is there a goblin heirarchy I need to know about?)

Has to be shorts with those tights, if the waist coat is wore open then what about some sort of closer fitting top (not revealing) like a 70's knitted jumper is it called turtle neck, I thinking about trying to get a sort of layered look.
