Hi all!

I have this great Ihling bros Evergarde Co red velvet vest with gold braid. Cotton velvet, with cotton blend braid. Also lined in cotton. Significant sweat wear in the underarms. Really cool piece with that Jimi Hendrix vibe.

How in the world do I date this one? I've done a bit of reading on the company not much to help with dating tho, same company that produced the masonic regalia.

Any insight is appreciated.

It looks early 20th century, modeled after a 19th century Zouave or Zouave inspired military garment. If you search Google you might find a more exact reference, as many countries incorporated Zouave dress into their military and civil guard uniforms. Algeria and other countries still have similar styles today.

Is it possible the sleeves have been removed?

I agree it looks early 20thC, the label and lining matches the 1920s men's tailored items I have. I think this originally had sleeves.
