How to find old threads in forums?

How do you find topics in old threads in the forums? I remember information being discussed in former threads, but can't seem to find them. I know I am missing something - probably obvious.

In the light blue box above your post there is a Search feature with a magifying glass next to it. Right next to the button you clilck to go to the Main Site. You have to come pretty close to the subject or know who posted the original but that's how to do it!

Our VFG search function actually works pretty darn well. I can usually find what I'm looking for, if I'm able to remember the salient keywords.
