Recently I bought a fur blazer from a second hand shop. But I dont know from which animal the fur is. Can anyone tell me how to identify between fox, wolf and rabbits fur? The fur is grey in color, texture is soft and the length of the fur is medium. I will upload picture later.

This is the blazer that I bought.

Hi, Cute blazer, looks fairly modern. The fur is Rabbit. In order to be able to distinguish between the various fur types you need to read about the different characteristics, visual differences, and texture of each. Rabbit fur is a soft fur, comes in many different colors, and is also sometimes mixed in color.

Thank you so much or your help Caryn, ^_^. But I was thinking to resell this blazer tho. How much do you think I should sell it? thanks. :)

You are most welcome. We don't discuss value here but you can check to see if you can find any similar blazers to yours in eBay's completed listings to see what the average sold for.

Ooo..really? ok ok, I didnt know that we cant discuss about value here. Anyways, thanks once again. :)

This is because there are so many factors that affect what price something sell for, that it's not something we can offer advice on, apart from advising you to check online to see what similar things sell for.

This is mentioned in point 6 of the forum terms and rules.

But feel free to come with other questions!

Caryn. Would you say most dealers have trouble with fur?
I can spot a few but many I have a difficult time with.
Think it may be a mental block or something. I have the same thing
with buttons. I have button books and still have much trouble.
They have so many types of furs and they dye them and such.
A local show has a dealer that brings a huge fur inventory. Even listening
to the dealer and looking and feeling of the fur it is still difficult.
I know curly lamb and fox and rabbit best it seems.
Mink sort of but some muskrat looks similar I think it is .
Sorry OT of the thread sort of.

Hi Sandy, I wouldn't say that. I think that some people are just better than others at recognizing different textures of fur just like some people are better at being able to recognize the textures of different kinds of fabrics. For those who are able to distinguish the difference between fur types research and plenty of hands on experience also helps.

Okay Ruth, thanks. :) Yes, my avatar is The Princess Bride, I love this movie! haa..I wish I could wear the same wedding dress as her. :D

Do tell me if you know where I can find similar wedding dress like this because I just dont have enough time if I had to tailor-made this gown. :)
