How would one wear this hat?

1) straight on top of one's head over a 'do

2) cocked back on the head

3) off to the side.

The last picture you are seeing it sit with the label fartheset away from you, so conceivably the "front" of the hat. Its black satin and can stand up about another inch on the top part than it does if there is a head in it. the inside has netting.

I couldn't really show it on my manni. she does broadbrimmed hats real well but since her head is tilted and her 'do is not apropriate its hard to tell with this type where it is supposed to naturally sit.

BTW...it is too shallow/sits too high to be a turban. sorry gloria swanson

This looks like its c. 1960 and they were worn on the crown of the head, not exactly on dead top nor at the back but right on the back bulge of the head.
