How would you describe this \"textured\" 70\'s maxi?

Any thoughts on a description? Slit is only on one side. No tags. Unique texture.

Thanks in advance!

Thank you ladies. My brian :duh2:, I mean brain is fried.

I would probably call this one a hostess gown or hostess maxi-dress. The fabric is a double-knit (least it looks double knit from here) jacquard; heavily textured, but I don't think there's a particular name for its pattern or effect--it is pretty cool looking, though.

Did you try belting this with a nice wide patent belt, or a wide vintage scarf with a wild print? I find that these shift-style dresses can look really great with something at the waist to shape them a bit. I like to wear colorful scarves as waist sashes, and the period jewelry sets the look off nicely. I usually get nice compliments with the scarf as belt look; people notice it more so than they do a wide belt--but the belts look nice, too. Just depends on how "different" you want to be.

Anne, Louise, & Linda - I have this super leopard print scarf that would look great at the waist! I need a mobile accessories cart so I can change out looks everywhere.

I always forget about winter white. I tend to go in the ivory direction.

Thanks again ladies!
