How would you describe this?

This 70s/80s Ocean Pacific shirt is identical to one I wore in the late 70s early 80s. It is typical surf/skate wear of the time but I have no idea how to describe the unique embellishment on the back. Any suggestions? It is a typically classic button down blouse but then it pulls in at the back waist and buttons. Would you call it corsetted?

I wouldn't call it corseted, as that evokes images of lacing. How about tailored in to fit?
