I don\'t know what this is (purse thing)

Over a year ago, this came with some purses from an estate that ranged from the 30s-60s. I have never quite made heads or tails of it. Is it to toss your jewelry in on your dresser or is it supposed to be an evening bag. Anyone have any gut impressions or date? It has always just perplexed me. I have no idea why it really should.

It's small, and the sides are embossed. If i recall..in the 6"-8" long range.

I know you guys might think this is crazy....
but it reminds me of those bags that you got when you bought the "collection" (body lotion, perfume, etc) at the perfume counter........

But either way, it's really cool looking....
 
I have no idea on the date, but I like the idea of sitting it on your antique dresser and stashing jewelry.:D

Hey, how about hanging it on the tree at Christmas with a big ole diamond ring inside!
 
What threw me off on purse is there are no interior pockets, and not the typical configuration of an evening bag. If so it would probably be satin lined. the material feels like a sort of chamois, but not quite as soft and the trim is faux. Maybe just not really high end?? Or one other thought it was an import of some kind.

You could be right too, Jamie. The hard bottom could have meant to hold something. not the right size to hold perfume bottles up perhaps. I would think it would have a name somewhere. but that is possible too.

Linda, that would be one BIG diamond ring.
