so I was working on saturday, and I rolled out of bed and went into the back yard and started working. But then for some reason the urge hit me.....

I went and had my hair cut off! It was mid-back and had not been cut in two years.... it looked yucky.

So I went to a salon and let the gal do whatever she wanted. She chopped it off just to my shoulders and dyed it..... I now am sporting the meg ryan cut with the julia roberts color (who would have thought?) I am so happy!!!

My husband who did not want me to do it says I look 10 years younger! They didn't know me at church yestarday....

I feel so liberated without my hair :clapping:

(banging on desk & whistling!)

:clapping::clapping:Wooo hooooo!!:clapping::clapping:

WE WANT PICTURES!!! (and don't tell me you don't have a camera!)

I'm actually been considering doing the same thing. My hair grows EXTREMELY fast. My hair was not even shoulder length about a year ago and now it's past my shoulder blades. But.. I'm sick of it.
I was thinking of chopping it to above my shoulders again but I'm just not sure which STYLE cut I'd like. Most hairdressers don't quite get my style so I'm afraid to let them at it! I liked it last time... but it just wasn't ME. It was a very modern hairstyle and I'm a very vintage gal....

Pictures please :)

I chopped my hair from below the elbow to ...remember the "boy cut" in about 1990? That was way too radical. I was traumatized, basically LOL and it took 3-5 years to grow back. But wouldn't you know my hair is short again. not THAT short though.

Kristine...maybe look through vintage mags and pic a style. If you have a pic it helps. There is someone out in california somewhere who does just vintage 'dos and now i can't remember who.

Please do pass on the info if you remember... maybe they can help me!

I have looked through some vintage pics/mags for ideas... but all of their 'dos require a lot of curling, etc, to acheive.. and none of them ever shows the hairstyle UNdone-- fresh out of the shower.
Also.. my hair is very fine, which means its a pain in the butt to do ANY hairstyle well.

I definitely will.

I don't know where i saw it...the name wasn't fused in my brain because i am on the opposite side of the country...but if i come acrossed it i will let you know

There's nothing like new hair to totally change the way you look at yourself. Congratulations on the change. I'd love to see pictures too!

I wanna see pics too! :)

My hair is long....too long. I keep saying I am going to get it all chopped off but haven't had the guts. (When I actually get to the salon, I end up saying "Oh..just a trim. )

My hair is thick and wavy and every time I try something "different", it just doesn't turn out like I hoped. :(

Anyone who goes near a Hairdresser gets an award of bravery from me. I have never liked going, and gave it up in 1996. I also have fine hair and they always suggested a nice bob which I hated. My weakness is a trip to the cosmetic surgeon every six months for fillers and botox. For the first time in my life I can wear red lipstick. I always had thin lips in my youth but no longer. Congrats on the sucessful hair do. It always feels great to be pleased with the reflection in the mirror
