I found this bag and I am not sure if it's old or worn out, or both.

I know that it is plastic, it has a knit bottom, the inner shell is missing and the top is metal. Is it made for adults, or for children? thought, well perhaps it was to play dress up, but I found it in the bag section for adults, so who knows, it is pretty, but I can't imagine what I/one would put in it.


Thoughts on age, use, materials?

I think it may have been meant to be a cosmetics bag.

Looks to be a late 60s makeup/cosmetics bag, with vinyl lining that's disintegrated/been torn out. The bottom is crocheted, not knit.

Yes, I agree with the others. The linings often get stained by make up and so perhaps someone tore it out.
