I get to go away! Anyone know Munich/Salzburg?

Yay! It's been a bumpy old start to the year for me but my little sister has come up trumps and is paying for me to go away with her for a long weekend in March in lieu of a birthday gift.

We fly to/from Salzburg so will spend a day there either Friday and Monday and check out all things Mozarty :D (as well as any antique shops of course), and will then make our way by train across the border to Germany for Saturday and Sunday, heading for Munich to stay with a friend of my sisters who has a flat there.

It's not until the end of March but I am really excited, not least because I hardly ever spend any time with my sister as there is a bit of an age gap and think it will be a good getting to know you better exercise..

Now OBVIOUSLY I am going to want to go shopping! I believe there are fleamarkets around Munich so I shall endeavour to find any I can, and I think a few vintage shops in the town itself. I didn't know if anyone knew more than that?

Any shopping tips welcome!

:)

You lucky girl...I am so envious!!!

I think that either Pam - glamorsurf - or her sis Jody - coutureallure - were somewhere in that part of the world lately. Sorry, my memory escapes me who or exactly where! :BAGUSE:

that sounds wonderful! I have been told that salzburg is outrageously expensive but beautiful and it is a place i have always wanted to go.

Apparently it is only an hour and a half on the train to Munich, and we arrive first thing in the morning in Salzburg - so if it is expensive I shall just spend the day there and then head for cheap dining out in Germany!

I've been to both, and will post a little later after I've had a bit of time to think.

Salzburg is one of the most beautiful cities I've ever visited.

Lucky you!
Lizzie
